The Sweet Delilah
Swim Club

The touching comedy The Sweet Delilah Swim Club will be presented by the Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County for a run of nine performances opening April 25th.  There will be a special Mother's Day matinee performance on May 11th.   The performance dates are April 25- May 11, 2025.

The comedy written by Jesse Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten is about five unforgettable women whose friendships began many years ago on their college swim team. Free from husbands, kids, and jobs, they meet at the same beach cottage every summer, the “Sweet Delilah” on North Carolina’s Outer Banks to catch up, laugh, take a dip in the ocean and meddle in each other’s lives. The play focuses on four of those weekends and spans a period of thirty-three years as they work through the challenges of men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce, and aging.

“This delightful script is part Steel Magnolias, and part Designing Women -  and a touch of The Golden Girls,” explains director Don Irven. “It is a delightful story that celebrates the strength and beauty of female friendships through laughter, tears, and love.”

The Sweet Delilah Swim Club has been performed in numerous theatres across the globe. This is the 20th anniversary of the three playwrights who together have written 26 comedies that have been performed across America and around the world. Jamie Wooten, one of the playwrights, was a writer/producer for many seasons of the classic television series The Golden Girls, where he won the Writers Guild of America award.
